We understand that to visit the doctor's office or hospital can be a difficult experience for both children and their family members. Please make sure that you have all of your child's necessary medical records.

What to do prior to coming to the hospital and what to bring on your visit.

Transportation

Children's Hospital is located at 2-chome Tojin-machi Chuo-ku in Fukuoka, near Fukuoka-dome and is accessible by subway and bus.
By subway, take the First Line and get off at the Tojin-machi station.
By bus, please get off at the Tojin-machi stop.

Outpatient Visit

For most of our outpatient programs and services, your first stop is Outpatient Registration. Please leave yourself a half hour before your scheduled appointment time to register.

After registration, you will be directed to the doctor's place. If your child has an appointment, you may go there directly.

Inpatient Stay

When your child is scheduled to be hospitalized, you will be notified by  us about an admission date. If your child has been exposed to a contagious disease, such as chicken pox, measles or mumps or even a cold, or is not feeling well just before the day of admission, please let us know and call your doctor at Children's. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

When you arrive at Children's, you will first need to register, then you will be directed to the correct inpatient ward.

Inpatient Registration

If your child is hospitalized, one parent may stay with the child in his or her room. Dormitory-style family rooms are available for parents of patients, although the numbers are limited. Kitchenette and bed linens are provided.

What to Bring on your visit

There are several things that you should bring to the hospital for your child's visit or stay. Some are items that will help make your child feel more comfortable while he or she is with us. Others are critical forms and information for hospital records. Please be advised to bring a letter of introduction from your physician.

What to Bring for a Hospital Stay

To help your child feel more comfortable in an unfamiliar place,
we encourage you to bring his or her favorite belongings to the hospital.

Please label all personal items. If your child has special electrical medical appliances, such as intravenous or feeding pumps, or monitoring devices, please let us know on your arrival.

Operation of cellular phones is not permitted in the hospital buildings, particularly within six feet of electrical medical equipment. The security of personal belongings is the family's responsibility

We understand that it is not easy to stay away from home and familiar surroundings. It is especially true if you are not familiar with the language, culture, and medical system. We do our best to help you to establish a comfortable atmosphere for your visit and stay at Children's.

Emergency Medical Organization of Fukuoka City

This organization copes with medical emergencies which occur beyond ordinary consultation hours of the clinics and hospitals.
If you have a sudden illness or an injury at night or on national holidays

FUKUOKA EMERGENCY MEDICAL CENTER is available.

A Night weekday or holiday (Sunday & National Holiday) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., medical examination can be received also except FUKUOKA EMERGENCY MEDICAL CENTER at

EMERGENCY MEDICAL CLINICS.
